I’ve been in agony for quite a few hours. Not the excruciating pain you’d have from shattered bones, but the walk like I’ve been on a horse, 5/10 dull pain, that makes live miserable. I had a cyst removed, suffice to say it wasn’t from anywhere visible and I’m not exactly comfortable. So I’ve been restricted to lying or sitting down, without any stirring. It’s killing really me as I’ve all of these plans to make and work on. Still I’ve not been idle. I’m working on the images I shot with the inimitable Anita DeBauch.

I’ve also been working on images I shot with Alex Popovici from Catwalk. Good fun working with Alex.
I’ve just fixed a bug and added a new feature to make LRB Portfolio 2.61, so that’ll be online soon.
I’m also working on a new gallery for Lightroom, which I hope to have out shortly, once I knock out a manual for it.
Photo work is otherwise at a standstill, because I’m not allowed drive for a few weeks. I’ll be in Dungarvan next week, but I’ll be the passenger!I’m looking at getting a new office/small studio to work from, and I’ll be creating new flyers for the various offers I’ve on. Email and ask if you’re interested in Headshots/Fashion Portfolios, Band Promo etc. Remember I also do 1:1 training in Lightroom and Photoshop.
It’s been well over a month since I posted anything. I’d love to say it’s because I’ve had nothing to post, but that would be a lie. It’s been manic in truth. Let’s see:
- Makeup Course: Done and dusted (or blended maybe). Enjoyed this a lot. It was good fun
- Focus on Imaging: I spoke on the Phototraining4U.com stand. Again great fun. Tiring, but great.
- Buxton (residential week): I did Lightroom, Photoshop and Off Camera Flash stuff, some formal, some not. Again this was great. Signed up for next year already.
- Word Press conversion of Lightroom Blog: I found out by accident that Blogger was cutting support for FTP sites, so I changed.
- Lightroom 3 Beta 2 came out
- More PT4U Videos done!
- I’m updating seanmcfoto.com. Nothing to show yet.. Nearly there!
There’s other things, but I’ll leave them to their own posts!
Happy Christmas. I’ve been having a wonderful day of presents and a healthy dose of reflection. Yesterdays trip has me fired up for more day trips in the large amount of coming free time in January. I hope all goes well with you, your health and happiness in the new year.
I was out at Tyrone house twice in the last few days. Beautiful for a ruin. The IRA destroyed it during The War of Independence, thinking the Black and Tans might use it as a base.
After such a bad experience the other day, I was dreading going back into the water today. I even got a different boat, but alas, once I was on the water I froze. I couldn’t do it. I don’t often bottle at things, but I had to get out. Chris has agreed to take me out separately so I can get the hang of paddling properly. I’m still up for it, but I really couldn’t face it today.
2nd kayak class was a series of disaster that left me a little sore and dispirited. I had serious issues with the boat and ended up loosing the feeling in my legs for a while. I got on okay with the sweep strokes, and did okay with the sideways strokes (it’s just normal paddling I’m struggling with!). In the end I came out of the boat rather unexpectedly and found myself standing on a rock at the edge of the canal, with my head just above water. I had the guys drag the boat back, and I managed to climb up the wall of the canal onto the path.
I’d truly had enough by then and didn’t go back in. Still I’ll go back on Monday again!
