All That I Can't Leave Behind

One area of photography that I especially enjoy is bodyscapes. I thoroughly enjoy the shapes and landscapes created by people far superior to my ability with the human body. It still doesn't stop me from trying. As with mastery of any craft, it takes time, patience and time (as George Harrison might say), not to mention pratice. Of course there needs to be trust with the model also (not to mention your partner!). Once this is there, working and shooting become much easier. This is from a session from yesterday. Of course this is actual implied nudity, because the model is wearing clothes!

Fairy

Another of my Tattoo images. I'm about to start canvasing for more people for these again soon. I may end up having to choose between this project and portraits for my AIPF distinction.
I've been busy with work, website updates, camera club presentations and band CD covers. I did my second NME gig there recently too- the excellentDark Room Notes. I've work to do in studio before I get shooting there again. Soon hopefully!

Almost Done

A little further along the road with Tattoos. I spent ages at this conversion but feel it needs a little extra to be done. I'm in the process of finding out more about picture quality in Lulu.com books. Frank Doorhoff has some books on it and likes it. I've asked him a few questions and hopefully he'll geiv me the answers I need to get good looking pictures into a collection of 'portfolio books" .

The Answer

This is Darrens Tattoo. This is the only tattoo I've shot outside the studio, mostly because I wouldn't have been able to get Darren there due to his travel schedule.

Lotus

Here the latest edit from my Tattoo stuff.

I've not posted for a while because after the last shot my new laptop was stolen, along with an Epson P2000, meaning I lost a lot of photos as well as the material goods that were taken. I'm still gutted over it. Also over the weekend was the LIPF judging. I've no news back on this though yet, I'm not getting my hopes up though due to not getting it the first time.

Peace & Love

I've been shooting quite a lot and not had much time to post so I might post a large bunch tomorrow for people to look at while I'm in continental Europe (after all I'm in Europe here at home!) This is another shot from my ongoing Tattoo project. Other shots here.

I've been forced to add a comment checker to help prevent the deluge of spam that's been hitting me over the last 2 weeks or so.

Clef

Another from this weeks tattoo sessions. I'd show more but for the unfortunate deleting of 20Gbs of pictures by yours truly, with no understanding as to how my entire Pictures folder ended up in the trash. I had deleted a folder from the desktop with about 80 images that I had elsewhere. I needed the space so I emptied the trash, only to see 1.700 items to delete. I figured it must be a program file with loads of resourses until I went to check other photos. Damn!

Fortunately most of the stuff is backed up or I can get client copies back for myself. I think there's literally only one folder gone forever, but it may be backed up on a general backup disk. I wouldn't mind but the delete happened while I was actually backing stuff up!

Guitar Girl

Nicola mixes her love of playing with her love of the Chili's guitar man John Frusciante.

When I shot this originally I fully intended to crop it to square but when I was doing my selects I just liked it the way it is. I've done a very slight crop and slight rotate to this and I did the black and white conversion in Adobes new Lightroom Beta. It's great and will be even more so when it's finished and out of beta.
